Biography
Blending hip-hop, indie rock, and funk into an eccentric strain of intimate pop, Binki works as a vocalist, lyricist, and MC with a singular creative vision. His first EP, Motor Function, arrived in 2021, and Antennae followed two years later.
Baraka Ongari entered the world in Pennsylvania and first gravitated toward acting during adolescence. Once high school ended, he enrolled in theater studies at the University of North Carolina, where he picked up guitar on his own. Songwriting soon followed, shaped by an eclectic mix of touchstones such as Childish Gambino, Pink Floyd, Tyler, The Creator, and David Bowie. After sharing early material online, he issued the track “Marco” through streaming platforms in 2018; the release built an audience and secured a contract with Fader. Motor Function came next in 2021, featuring the singles “Clay Pigeon” and “Landline,” with the latter licensed for FIFA 22. To open 2023 he unveiled “Hotel Window” and “Rocket Ship,” setting the stage for Antennae later that same year.
