Biography
Carter Faith, a reflective vocalist and composer noted for her understated style, takes cues from Taylor Swift by modeling her own tracks about romance and ambition on early albums such as Fearless. She counters her natural warmth through finely layered productions that balance atmosphere with melodic clarity. Two EPs preceded the 2022 single “Greener Pastures,” whose growing reach generated anticipation for the third EP, Man, issued late in 2023. The Aftermath arrived the following year and contained a duet with Alison Krauss.
Born in Davidson, North Carolina, she took up piano and guitar while in middle school. Original songwriting began once she reached sixteen. After finishing high school she moved to Nashville, where she enrolled at Belmont University and set her sights on a country career. She soon integrated into the Music City community by appearing regularly at Song Suffragettes, the weekly showcase for women songwriters based in Nashville.
Her first single, “Leaving Tennessee,” surfaced in July 2020 and drew enough listeners to attract Altadena, the entertainment company founded by the late producer busbee. Altadena placed her under an artist development deal, after which she promptly issued “Sinners in a Small Town” and “Easy Pill.” The 2021 EP The Dusk Sessions presented spare piano-and-voice readings of “Leaving Tennessee” and “Easy Pill” alongside a cover of Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time.” She next offered “Joyride,” the single that previewed her proper debut EP, Let Love Be Love.
Across 2022 and the first half of 2023 she released a steady stream of singles—“Greener Pasture,” “Cowboy Forever,” and “Wild”—each highlighting her textured pop-country approach. Fronted by its smoldering title track, the Man EP reached listeners in October 2023. In the ensuing year she sustained her output of reflective, well-crafted singles, among them 2024’s “Late Bloomer” and the Alison Krauss collaboration “Blue Bird,” both of which appeared on her subsequent EP, The Aftermath.
