Charles Butler & Trinity

Charles Butler, a native of Washington, D.C., works as a music instructor and conductor while also serving as the lead singer and guiding force behind the Stellar Award-nominated ensemble Charles Butler & Trinity. Through this collective, he aimed to elevate expectations for modern gospel community ensembles. A 2011 appearance on the up-and-coming gospel showcase Jawn Murray Presents Untapped provided early momentum for Butler and his associates. Their official introduction arrived in 2013 via the album Better. In 2015, Butler joined Mike Scott in directing a 100-voice interdenominational choir for the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March. One year afterward, the follow-up release Make It entered Billboard’s gospel albums chart at the number-two position. Over time, Butler and Trinity have also appeared alongside or opened for such figures as Shirley Caesar, Hezekiah Walker, and Kirk Franklin.
