Biography
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Curtis Fields, the contemporary R&B singer and songwriter, also spent stretches of his life in several additional Southern cities, among them Birmingham, Little Rock, and Nashville. At Fisk University in Nashville he joined the Fisk Jubilee Singers, the a cappella ensemble founded during the late 19th century. Over time he turned his focus to capturing both original songs and covers through phone apps. A talent audition drew the notice of Ray Daniels of Raydar Management, after which Fields promptly landed a contract with Epic. His earliest releases on the major label were the 2013 single “Opposites Attract” and “Fool for You” from 2015, two polished, emotionally direct ballads.
