Born on Long Island, John Sammis first toyed with rapping purely for amusement during his youth. By the close of the 2000s he began treating music as a serious pursuit, building recognition under the name Johnny Drama. The swirling melodies and measured attitude of Chief Keef, Travis Scott, and Rae Sremmurd shaped his direction most strongly, leading him to release a steady stream of tracks via J $tash’s Relax Rekords.
