Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, the melodic Christian pop/rock group Everyday Sunday originated in a suburban youth group at a Hilliard church where lead vocalist Trey Pearson participated. Drawing influence from CCM stalwarts Audio Adrenaline, Jars of Clay, and dc Talk, the band issued its independent debut album Sleeper in 2001, gaining widespread notice that year after the single “Just a Story” achieved airplay success on Christian radio. Support slots alongside All-Star United, Pax217, Skillet, and Earthsuit came next, and the accumulating momentum drew interest from Flicker Records. The group signed with the imprint in 2002 and delivered Stand Up that autumn. Strong sales followed for that release and its 2004 successor Anthems for the Imperfect, both of which earned praise from Christian radio outlets and CCM Magazine. Persistent road work over several years nearly dissolved the lineup, yet commitment to music and faith prevailed, prompting new songwriting. After securing a fresh contract with Inpop Records, Everyday Sunday recorded its most polished and radio-friendly set with producer Ian Eskelin (Krystal Meyers, All-Star United). Wake Up! Wake Up! arrived in May 2007, earning favorable notices and yielding Christian radio singles “Find Me Tonight” and “Wake Up! Wake Up!” A summer of touring ensued, by which time the roster included vocalist Pearson, guitarists Jesse Counts and Aaron Eikenberry, bassist Brandon Eikenberry, and drummer Kevin Cramblet. Earlier configurations had featured Dan Hunter on bass, Chris Hines on drums, Jason Siemer on guitar, Andrew Martin on guitar, and additional players.
