The Brazilian EDM duo Felguk crafts an ecstatic and propulsive strain of electro-house designed expressly for summer festivals. Buzzing synths, filter sweeps, and mutated funk basslines define many of their tracks, though the pair has also explored dubstep, trance, hip-hop, and additional styles. Collaborations have linked them with 12th Planet, Example, and Infected Mushroom, while 2012 saw them opening for Madonna across the Brazilian dates of her tour. Dozens of their tracks and remixes have topped online retail charts or accumulated substantial streams, among them the 2010 release “2Nite” and their 2018 version of Vanessa da Mata’s “Ai Ai Ai.”

Felipe Lozinsky and Gustavo Rozenthal, based in Rio de Janeiro, launched their Felguk project in 2007. Their debut single, “Palmtree,” appeared on the German imprint Houserecordings. Further buzzing electro-house followed on the 2008 EPs Galaxy Traveller (Plasma.Digital) and All Night Long (BugEyed Records). High-profile remixes of Madonna’s “Celebration,” the Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit),” and Flo Rida featuring David Guetta’s “Club Can't Handle Me” expanded their reach. The 2010 single “2Nite” featured in the official trailer for the dance festival Electric Daisy Carnival. In 2011 the duo joined U.K. rapper Example for “Plastic Smile,” founded their own Dongle Records label, and issued “Blow Out” and “Jack It” on the imprint. DJ Mag placed them in its Top 100 DJs poll for both 2011 and 2012. That year’s itinerary encompassed Tomorrowland, Burning Man, and several opening slots on Madonna’s MDNA tour in Brazil.

The 2013 EP Slice & Dice contained a joint track with Israeli trance duo Infected Mushroom and a remix from Californian dubstep producer 12th Planet. Later joint releases included 2014’s “Nova” alongside Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Tujamo plus 2015’s “Slap” with FTampa. Beginning in 2017, Felguk issued regular covers of classic dance recordings such as Laid Back’s “White Horse” and Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger,” the latter retitled “Work It Harder.” They also returned to Brazilian material by reworking MPB singer Vanessa da Mata’s “É Tudo o Que Eu Quero Ter” and “Ai Ai Ai.” Activity has continued into the 2020s with original pieces such as “OK” and the chiptune-influenced “Game Boy,” as well as a remix of Moby’s “Power Is Taken.”
