Flemish crooner Gunther Neefs first saw the light of day in Mechelen, Belgium, during 1965. Multiple chart successes arrived for him in the opening years of the 1990s, among them the singles “Hier in Dit Land,” “Daarom Zeg Ik Nee,” and “Ik Blijf Bij Jou.” He paired with the recorded voice of his late father, cabaret singer Louis Neefs, for the posthumous 2000 duet “Laat Ons Een Bloem,” and he also supplied the singing voice of Thomas O’Malley for the 2008 re-release of Disney’s animated feature The Aristocats. Two retrospective collections, titled 15 and 21, appeared in the 2000s to mark the span of his career.
