Witnessing D'Angelo on the legendary Voodoo tour of 2000 inspired a young Gene Noble to commit his life to music. That pivotal experience led him to build a dual career as songwriter and solo performer. Beyond crafting material for Jason Derulo and Chris Brown, Noble issued his own recordings and delivered the hook on the 2016 hit "Only Love," a bright mash-up of R&B, pop, and EDM created with Pitbull and Shaggy.

Born into a military family, Noble relocated frequently throughout his childhood. He ultimately settled in New York City and launched his music career in the early 2010s. Alongside his songwriting work, he put out the ten-song project Rebirth of Gene in 2014. The set of interestingly produced R&B tracks showcased both Noble's powerful vocals and his warm musical personality. In subsequent years he continued dropping occasional singles while his reputation as a songwriter expanded. He supplied songs to artists such as Alicia Keys, Faith Evans, and Usher, and frequently opened shows for several of those same acts. In 2019 Noble appeared with Sting and Shaggy on portions of their NPR Tiny Desk Concert. The following year he issued the new single "Too Many Lost (Stand Together Mix)."
