Biography
Hailing from Boston, Gentlemen Hall specialize in cheerful, memorable indie pop built around danceable grooves. The ensemble took shape in 2008 during the members’ college years and revolves around lead singer and guitarist Gavin Merlot, keyboardist Bradford Alderman, vocalist and guitarist Cobi Mike, bassist Rory Given, drummer Phil Boucher, and flutist Seth Hachen. Early momentum came from repeated gigs at clubs, frat houses, and basement parties that quickly established a loyal hometown following. Their first EP, Give Us Roots, Give Us Wings, arrived in 2010 and was followed a year later by When We All Disappear; both received strong local radio exposure and soon carried the band beyond regional boundaries. A national television debut arrived in 2011 when the group performed at the Billboard Music Awards. Two years afterward, the single “Sail Into the Sun” appeared in multiple television commercials for Target and Samsung.
