Biography
Formed in the early 1990s, the Spanish pop/rock quartet Girasoules drew primary inspiration from British pop and Afro-Caribbean rhythms under the founding efforts of Quique Tarrasó and Fernando Martínez. Guitarist Javier Vela and drummer Ramón Vela completed the lineup shortly thereafter. The group independently created two demos in 1992—A Tu Lado and Cuestión de Suerte—prior to securing a deal with EMI. This led the band to relocate to Los Angeles, California, where they recorded their first full-length release, Rompe Tu Silencio, under the production guidance of KC Porter.
