Glint emerged as a New York synth pop collective launched by ex-Broadway actor Jase Blankfort, who handles lead vocals, songwriting, production, and multiple instruments. Having pivoted from theater to music in his late teens, the Orangeburg, New York native teamed with his brother Adam Jordan to create Rely Records as a vehicle for his material and began appearing regularly on Northeast college stages. The Boston-recorded debut EP Discipline Is Remembering What You Really Want appeared in 2005. Its first full-length, Mode to Joy, followed in 2007 and highlighted the project’s post-punk revivalist, synth-textured indie rock with keyboardist Phil Selesnick, bassist Dylan Kelehan, and recurring collaborator Matias Tebaldi on drums in a temporary configuration. Sound in Silence arrived the next year, and Glint EP surfaced in 2009. After widening its live reach across the U.S. and Europe and landing support slots with MGMT and TV on the Radio, Glint joined Votiv, which issued the EPs Introvert and Extrovert in 2015. The subsequent year brought the third album Inverter, which sustained the direction of recent releases through a reflective atmosphere and expansive, arena-suitable production.
