Heartist

Hailing from Orange County, California, Heartist formed in 2011 and have fused intense hard rock with fervent post-hardcore elements ever since. The group consists of vocalist Bryce Beckley, guitarists Robby DeVito and Tim Koch, bassist Evan Ranallo, and drummer Matt Marquez. Their style surges ahead on a torrent of massive guitar riffs and pounding percussion, then pivots sharply into an expansive, mournful vocal hook that supplies the music with its signature emotional resonance. Heartist issued their first recording, the EP Nothing You Didn't Deserve, in 2012, and the next year they secured a contract with Roadrunner Records. The Southern California five-piece then released their debut full-length album, Feeding Fiction, on the label in 2014.
