Hearts Hearts

Hailing from Vienna, the experimental indie-electronic group Hearts Hearts produces disorienting, twisting tracks defined by singer David Österle’s yearning vocals that remain cryptically submerged. The outfit originated in 2012 in Vienna, starting out as a duo featuring Österle and guitarist Daniel Hämmerle. Once electronics producer Peter Paul Aufreiter and drummer Johannes Mandorfer joined, the quartet relocated to a monastery to shape their sonic identity by blending vintage instruments with contemporary processing. Those formative sessions yielded the band’s debut album, 2015’s Young. Positive critical response followed, prompting an extensive European tour that encompassed prominent festival appearances at Popfest, The Great Escape, and Reeperbahn. In 2018 Hearts Hearts resurfaced with their second full-length, Goods/Goods, which spotlighted the singles “Phantom/Island” and “Sugar/Money.”
