Biography
Jonathan Visger and Brian Konicek, onetime collaborators in Mason Proper, operate Hollow & Akimbo as a Michigan indie-pop endeavor. After Mason Proper delivered its 2008 album Olly Oxen Free, Visger launched the solo studio project Absofacto and issued a series of singles and EPs on his own throughout the following years. The pair eventually resumed working together, pursuing material that echoed the experimental art-pop approach of their earlier group. Under the Hollow & Akimbo banner they fuse mutual interests in electronic experimentation, tape loops, and angular melodic hooks. The project unveiled its debut EP, Pseudoscience, in 2013 and subsequently aligned with the Michigan indie label Quite Scientific, which issued the self-titled Hollow & Akimbo full-length in February 2014.
