A multiple Dove Award recipient whose contemporary Christian recordings have found widespread popularity, Jason Crabb first gained notice as the lead vocalist of the Southern gospel ensemble the Crabb Family and later as a solo artist whose work often blends country and bluegrass elements. When the Crabb Family disbanded in 2007, he launched an independent career that began with the chart-topping, Grammy-winning self-titled debut issued in 2009 on Spring Hill Music Group. Later solo projects such as Love Is Stronger, released in 2013, and the Grammy-winning Unexpected, which appeared in 2018, likewise earned both critical praise and strong sales. His sixth solo outing, the 2022 album Miracle in a Manger, combined holiday standards with newly written material.

Raised in Kentucky, Crabb became a member of the chart-topping gospel group the Crabb Family alongside his parents and five siblings, remaining with them from 1995 until the ensemble paused its activities in 2007 so members could explore separate endeavors. His initial solo release, Jason Crabb, surfaced that same year on Spring Hill Music Group, reached number 62 on the Billboard 200, and captured the Grammy for Best Southern/Country/Bluegrass Album in 2010. A holiday collection, Because It's Christmas, followed later in 2010. In 2011 he issued the live album and concert DVD The Song Lives On; the Crabb Family also regrouped for a tour that year and returned to the studio for the 2012 album Together Again, which Crabb produced. Love Is Stronger arrived on the Gaither Music Group label in 2013. Over the years he has contributed to projects by numerous fellow gospel artists, among them Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir’s I’m Amazed…LIVE (2005), Gaither Vocal Band’s Better Day (2010), and the soundtrack to Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas (2014), in addition to several Gaither Homecoming video releases.

March 2015 saw the arrival of his debut solo compilation, Through the Fire: The Best of Jason Crabb. That September he delivered his fourth studio album, Whatever the Road, marking his first project with Provident Label Group. Unexpected appeared in 2018 and included guest appearances by Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox and former Pussycat Doll Kaya Jones; the set earned Crabb the Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album the next year. The Crabb Family’s 20/20 was released in 2020. More than ten years after his previous Christmas recording, Miracle in a Manger arrived in October 2022, with production credits shared by Tim Akers, Kevin Rooney, and Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus.
