Biography
Jean-Roch followed the path laid by compatriot David Guetta, another French producer and DJ, reaching chart prominence in his forties thanks to support from multiple leading U.S. R&B artists. Born Jean-Roch Pedri in Toulon in 1966, family restaurant obligations ended his teenage hopes of a football career, yet he ironically claimed his first hit with “Can You Feel It,” France’s official Euro 2004 anthem. He devoted the balance of the decade to expanding the VIP Room empire through new nightclubs in Saint-Tropez, Paris, and Luxembourg, then reentered music in 2010 with the Top Ten single “My Love Is Over” and soon after issued his debut solo album Music Saved My Life, which included appearances by Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, and Amerie.
