Long before the dance club DJ craze took hold, Laurent Wolf, a leading European dance artist, devoted much of his early adulthood to tinkering with records and blending sounds at his parents’ house in Mantes-la-Jolie, Paris, France. By age 12 he was already crafting turntable magic in the basement or bedroom. His first paid gigs took place in Orgeval clubs and soon led to a regular weekly slot at the renowned Queen venue. From 1992 onward he worked up to three nights a week before moving into studio production. After remixing tracks for other performers, he began issuing his own material; the 1995 single “House Train” was quickly followed by “Saxo” and “Calinda,” both drawn from his debut solo album Sunshine Paradise, which brought him global notice. With more than 250,000 units sold, he gained recognition as an emerging international talent and started receiving bookings for large crowds throughout Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Two career-spanning compilations, Positiv Energy and Afro Dynamic, appeared in 2004. By then a fixture on the club circuit, Wolf issued Hollyworld in 2006, his broadest release to that point. Wash My World arrived in 2008 and contained the European hit “No Stress,” which topped the charts in both Belgium and France. In November 2011 he released the album Harmony, which featured the track “Love Again” with Andrew Roachford.
