Biography
Joalin Loukamaa, a Finnish singer, dancer, and influencer, merges the moody electronic pop of Scandinavia with the rhythmic drive of Latin urban music. Born in Turku during 2001, she spent roughly ten years in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she acquired fluency in Spanish and developed a deep affinity for Latin culture. After returning to Europe she joined the multinational teen group Now United, the project initiated by Simon Fuller, the figure behind the Spice Girls and the Idol television franchise. Under the 11 Ones imprint she began shaping her own recordings alongside producer Jori Sjöroos, whose credits include PMMP, Magenta Skycode, and Fu-Tourist. Those early tracks—“Angelito,” “Así Así,” and “Tóxico”—were later gathered on her 2022 debut EP, I’m the One, and established her signature blend of Nordic electro-pop atmospheres with reggaeton and Latin trap elements, delivered predominantly in Spanish. Already among Finland’s most widely followed online personalities, she opened 2024 by releasing the single “La Chica-cá.”
