Biography
When JR Castro arrived in 2015 with his first mixtape, the Las Vegas R&B vocalist distinguished himself by drawing an array of prominent hip-hop endorsements. Timbaland, the established producer, spotted the Miguel-styled singer and brought in Future, Wale, and Mike WiLL Made It to appear on the project. Its initial exposure came that same year through the Faith Evans-sampling single “Get Home,” an immediate success shaped by DJ Mustard and featuring Kid Ink alongside Migos member Quavo.
