Biography
Junkfood Junkies emerged in 1998 as one of Germany’s stronger trance outfits, launching their career with the single “Work It” before issuing further club favorites that included “J.U.N.K.” and “The Journey.” Jens Kindervater and Bernd Johnen, who formed the duo, first crossed paths in 1994 inside a record shop in their native Aachen. They initially worked together under the Gatekeepers name, issuing dancefloor material from 1995 onward, yet found substantially greater recognition once they adopted the Junkfood Junkies moniker. Among their releases, “The Journey” achieved the strongest results, topping club charts throughout Europe, while “J.U.N.K.,” “For You Mind,” “Funky Horn,” and “Hands Up” each registered notable but comparatively modest impact.
