Kate Ryan

By the age of eight Belgian-born singer/songwriter Kate Ryan already played several instruments, and she had become a seasoned stage performer while still in her mid-teens. At sixteen a manager recruited her for the soft rock/pop band Melt, where she remained for two years before departing to launch a solo career. Her debut single, a cover of Mylene Farmer’s “Desenchantee’,” earned platinum certification in Belgium and held the top spot on the European charts for months—an achievement matched when her first album, Different, sold 250,000 copies. Her most recent project, the dance-pop-heavy Stronger, continues that trajectory.
