Emerging from New York, Bronx drill rapper Kay Flock first drew widespread attention when he dropped his opening single, “FTO,” which quickly piled up enormous streaming totals and paved the way for his 2021 debut mixtape, The D.O.A. Tape. The next year brought further momentum through the collaborative cut “Shake It,” featuring Cardi B alongside additional guests.

Raised in the Bronx from birth, Kay Flock absorbed early inspiration from Chief Keef and the late L’A Capone, later experimenting with beat-making and his own rhymes. Recognizing his knack for rapid-fire delivery, he launched “FTO” as his initial release in 2020, promptly building a strong digital audience. Throughout the following twelve months he rolled out numerous singles, linking with B-Lovee, Dougie B, Lil Skrap, and Wan Billz ahead of inking a deal with Universal. His first offering under the imprint, the widely embraced “Being Honest,” was followed by additional material that led into The D.O.A. Tape. Issued toward the close of 2021, the project gathered earlier recordings and included a reworked take on “Being Honest” that now featured G Herbo. In 2022 he scored another success with “Shake It,” a track uniting Cardi B, Dougie B, and Bory300 that reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100.
