Kokiri

Originating from Liverpool in England, Kevin Williams crafts energetic and densely layered vocal house music under the moniker Kokiri. As a teenager he took up production, spurred by the UK hardcore and drum'n'bass selections his older brother regularly played. Learning that one such track had been made in a bedroom rather than a commercial facility sharpened his interest. Slightly more than ten years after he began creating electronic dance music with basic resources, he scored a breakthrough via the 2015 single "Turn Back Time (Retrospect)," issued on Ministry of Sound in the UK and Big Beat/Atlantic in the US. Subsequent A-sides appeared on Love & Other, Perfect Havoc, and Armada Music, most featuring prominent vocalists; these included the Adam F collaboration "Harmony," the A-Minor collaboration "Energy," and the solo cuts "Chasing" and "Other Side of Love" (all 2016-2017). His commissioned remixes from this period covered Conor Maynard's "Talking About" and Naughty Boy and Joe Jonas' "One Chance to Dance."
