Kristen Kelly

Growing up in Texas, contemporary country singer-songwriter Kristen Kelly formed a healthy addiction to country, blues, and classic rock. She sang in her high school choir and studied poetry before earning a music degree from McLennan Community College in Waco, where her collaboration with a friend produced the album Highway Is My Home, credited to Modern Day Drifters. Following her collaborator’s exit in 2010, she chose to release Placekeeper under her own name. This effort attracted Arista Nashville, leading to her signing and the involvement of award-winning producer Tony Brown and Grammy-winning songwriter Paul Overstreet in producing her major-label debut single “Ex-Old Man.”
