Biography
Lucas Nord, the multifaceted Swedish artist, first gained widespread attention in 2013 via his Tove Lo duet "Run on Love," which climbed to the top of Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart. Since that breakthrough he has moved beyond mainstream club fare, centering his work on emotionally direct pop shaped by contemporary R&B. A lifelong devotee of songcraft, the Stockholm native—full name Lucas Hans Göran Nordqvist—honed his skills at the Rytmus music school before signing with Hybris. Several dance-focused singles preceded the arrival of "Run on Love," whose original version topped the chart and subsequently received more than a dozen remixes from Dave Audé, Tony Moran, and Rasmus Faber, aided by a U.S. licensing arrangement through Radikal. The song anchored Nord's debut album, Islands, also issued in 2013. A special version later surfaced on Tove Lo's Queen of the Clouds, which reached number six in Sweden the next year.
Creative stagnation soon prompted Nord to move to London, where fresh ideas eventually resurfaced. A partnership with Cosmic Music accompanied a deliberate stylistic pivot on the 2015 EP After You, whose stripped-back production favored concise pop rooted in modern R&B; the project was recorded entirely solo. The same solitary approach defined the follow-up EP Company, released in 2016. Shortly afterward Nord launched Bisous, an imprint under Station House Recordings. Between 2017 and 2018 he issued the standalone singles "Nervous," "Care Enough," and "Different Songs."
