Biography

It was in 1998 that Margarita launched her professional journey in Texas’s Rio Grande Valley. Following her signing to EMI, she issued a debut album under her own name. That project featured her breakthrough single “Te Juro.” Recognition arrived the next year when she received the Rising Star Female award at the 19th Tejano Music Awards. In 2000, both Margarita and her group Mezzcal earned nominations for Most Promising Band, Female Entertainer of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year.
