Biography
A poised and heartfelt vocalist, Miesa demonstrates her skill at refreshing earlier R&B and pop styles through tracks like the 2016 release "Too Bad for You," the 2020 cut "Unsaid," and "4U" from the year after. Entertainment work has occupied her since childhood, beginning with appearances in pageants and talent competitions, while her father, himself a musician, broadened her listening across many genres. Once she joined the Sony-affiliated Siri Music Group, she issued several singles between 2013 and 2016, among them "Antidote," "Nope (Can't Let Go)," "Too Bad for You," and "Sway (I Miss You)." During 2016 she also joined Patti Austin and Andra Day for a Skyville Live webcast performance. Early the next year she put out "Overdrive," which reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart, later spawning remixes and an acoustic edition. Toward the end of the decade she continued with additional singles, including 2018's "Broken" and 2019's "Unsaid." That same year she was named the Grammys' NEXT artist and launched their Drop Series. After the acoustic set "Stripped" appeared in 2020, carrying her Emeli Sandé cover "Breaking the Law," she released the single "Worried." Ahead of her debut album she offered the April 2021 single "4U," a Mansur-produced duet with Justin Garner.
