My Epic

My Epic, a Christian alt-rock outfit headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, assembled in 2004 after the dissolution of Shaddai. Aaron Stone, Jesse Stone, and Matt Doran, the three surviving members, re-formed as a trio and issued their first independent EP, This Is Rescue, in 2006. Dreamt Records subsequently signed the group, which tracked its debut full-length, I Am Undone, in 2008 and followed it with Yet two years later. Personnel changes soon followed: Jeremiah Austin joined while original singer/drummer Jesse Stone exited, prompting Aaron Stone to assume lead-vocal duties; Jesse later rejoined, this time supplanting Matt Doran behind the kit. An acoustic EP, Broken Voice, surfaced in 2011 as guitarist Tanner Morita entered the revolving lineup and the band refined its post-hardcore indie aesthetic. Facedown Records acquired My Epic in 2013 and released the third album, Behold, that same year; the record became the band’s highest-charting release to date, registering strong placements on both the Christian and Heatseeker lists. Capitalizing on that momentum, the group delivered the Viscera EP in 2016. Early in 2018 the singles “Of Wilderness” and “Voices” preceded the May arrival of the Ultraviolet EP, with a further EP titled Violence appearing the next year.
