Biography
Formed in 2008 by Georgia native Cam Huxford, the Seattle-based Christian roots rock outfit Ghost Ship emerged as a seven-piece ensemble. Their dense, acoustic-driven arrangements and folk-pop sensibility soon positioned them as worship leaders at the city’s expansive Mars Hill Church. The band issued its debut release, the four-song EP A River with No End, in 2011 through the church’s own Mars Hill Music imprint, followed closely by the ten-track live concert set Ghost Ship Live. In 2013 they moved to BEC Recordings, a subsidiary of Tooth & Nail, for their first proper studio album, The Good King. Critics responded favorably, and the record climbed into the Top 30 of Billboard’s Christian and Heatseeker charts.
