Formed under SQU4D, a JYP Entertainment imprint, NMIXX operates as a six-member K-pop act that fuses teen pop, hip-hop, and rock while toggling between confident bravado and melodic tenderness. The collective’s inaugural single album, Ad Mare, arrived in early 2022 and ascended to the top of the South Korean chart. Entwurf followed several months later, with their first EP, Expergo, emerging in early 2023. A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream came next, preceding the consecutive chart-topping 2024 EPs Fe3O4: Break and Fe3O4: Stick Out.

Originally announced as JYPn, the lineup coalesced in late 2021 when JYP Entertainment’s SQU4D division assembled rappers Kyujin and Jiwoo, rapper-singer Jinni, and vocalists Haewon, Lily, BAE, and Sullyoon. Before their official launch, individual members and smaller units issued cover recordings to generate interest. The group stepped forward as NMIXX in February 2022 via lead single “O.O,” with single album Ad Mare appearing days afterward and claiming the number-one spot on the Korean album ranking. Seven months later they returned to the summit with follow-up single album Entwurf, which also reached number 53 on the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart. December brought the departure of Jinni, reducing the roster to six.

Expergo, their first EP, surfaced in March 2023 and included “Young, Dumb, Stupid” alongside “Love Me Like This,” the latter becoming their highest-charting Korean single to that point. July’s A Midsummer NMIXX’s Dream housed “Roller Coaster,” “Party O’Clock,” and the corresponding instrumentals, earning triple-platinum certification. “Soñar (Breaker)” served as the lead track from 2024’s Fe3O4: Break and topped the Korean chart, a feat matched by successor Fe3O4: Stick Out.
