South Korean sextet STAYC, whose full moniker expands to Star to a Young Culture and whose roster includes Sieun, Isa, Yoon, J., Sumin, and Seeun, was assembled by High Up Entertainment in November 2020. Their debut single album, Star to a Young Culture, entered the Korean charts at number six, after which the group advanced to number two with their first EP, Stereotype, released in 2021. The follow-up EP, YOUNG-LUV.COM, reached the top position the next year, while their third EP, Teenfresh, issued in 2023, landed at number three domestically and registered on two separate U.S. tallies.

Before their public launch, the act was known internally as the High Up Girls. Production team Black Eyed Pilseung and the High Up Entertainment label finalized the lineup during the latter half of the 2010s, with the initial addition of screen actress Park Si-eun, performing under the name Sieun. The completed six-piece introduced themselves in November 2020 via the single album Star to a Young Culture, fronted by the widely viewed track “So Bad.” Following a round of showcase appearances and televised performances, they issued the second single album, Staydom, in April 2021; its flagship song, “ASAP,” accumulated twenty million streams inside nine days. The debut EP Stereotype arrived that September and peaked at number two on the Korean charts behind the title track. Their second EP, YOUNG-LUV.COM, followed in February 2022 and claimed the number-one spot on the Gaon Album chart. Another single album, We Need Love, nearly repeated that feat in July before the 2023 release Teddy Bear returned the group to the summit. Teenfresh, their third EP, surfaced in August of that year, securing the third position in Korea while also charting on the U.S. Top Sales and World lists.
