Biography
Swedish electronic artist Otto Knows fuses progressive house textures with pop songcraft, securing multiple global chart entries while teaming with Britney Spears, Avicii, and Sébastian Ingrosso. The euphoric single “Million Voices” established him in 2012; two further releases, 2015’s “Next to Me” and the 2016 collaboration “Dying for You” featuring Lindsey Stirling and Alex Aris, both entered the Swedish Top Ten.
Born Otto Jettmann, he first embraced house music at sixteen after immersing himself in Stockholm’s underground club scene. Though he initially pursued DJing, time spent alongside Avicii and Swedish House Mafia members encouraged him to explore production and remixing. His 2010 rework of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” attracted early notice, and that same year he appeared on the joint track “iTrack” with Avicii and Oliver Ingrosso. A high-profile 2011 remix of Dada Life’s “Kick Out the Epic Motherfucker” preceded his solo debut, “Million Voices,” in 2012. The record ruled European EDM floors and crossed into the pop charts of Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Otto co-wrote and co-produced Britney Spears’ 2013 single “Work Bitch,” then issued his next original, “Parachute,” in 2014. “Next to Me” arrived the following year and delivered his first Swedish Top Ten placement. “Dying for You,” again with Lindsey Stirling and Alex Aris, repeated that chart success in 2016, while the Avicii collaboration “Back Where I Belong” reached the Top 40. Otto returned with the solo cut “With You” in 2017 and simultaneously remixed Avicii’s “Without You.” “Friends” closed the year; after a 2018 break he resurfaced with the 2019 single “One in a Million,” followed by “Something for Nothing” alongside Klahr and the track “About You.”
