Biography
Emerging from Lawrence, Kansas, Paw ranked among the grunge period’s stronger yet underappreciated outfits, earning recognition through their intense but tuneful LPs Dragline in 1993 and Death to Traitors in 1995. Disappointing sales prompted A&M to end the relationship, after which the band seemed to disappear completely. Paw reappeared in 2000, still anchored by original members Mark Hennessy and Grant Fitch but now joined by Jesse Larson and Jason Magierowski. Koch Records put out the trio’s third album, Home Is a Strange Place, in the middle of that year.
