Piqued Jacks

Italy's Piqued Jacks specialize in an energetic and melodic style of indie rock. After issuing multiple albums—among them Climb Like Ivy Does in 2015, The Living Past in 2018, and Synchronizer in 2021—the group represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest via the track "Like an Animal."

Piqued Jacks originated in Buggiano, Tuscany, Italy, in 2006 and revolve around frontman Andrea Lazzeretti. Between 2008 and 2014 the ensemble put out numerous singles and EPs that paved the way for the band's first full-length release, Climb Like Ivy Does, in 2015. Their follow-up LP, Aerial Roots, appeared the next year. Two years afterward they delivered a third album, The Living Past, produced by Dan Weller.

Piqued Jacks previewed a third album in 2020 through the single "Safety Distance." Synchronizer reached stores in March 2021. During 2023 the band entered and claimed victory at the second edition of the pre-Eurovision event Una voce per San Marino with "Like an Animal," which ultimately carried them to the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of San Marino, where they placed in the second semifinal.
