Project Youngin

Florida rapper Project Youngin brought unrelenting ambition to his work, emerging from the lesser-known Tampa Bay area while striving to put his local scene on the map. In the late 2010s he launched a steady output of mixtapes, tracks, videos, and joint recordings that gradually built an audience, supported by an active social media presence. Early collaborations with artists such as Ralo, Quando Rondo, and Lil Baby helped expand a catalog of distinctively stylized bangers.

Born Rasheed Jamaal Hall in 1994, he developed within the St. Petersburg hip-hop community and began treating music as a serious pursuit around 2015. Momentum arrived with the 2017 single “Balmains,” which featured Lil Baby. Shortly afterward he issued the mixtapes Still Shinin’ 4 Boola 2, Patience, Biggest Blessing, and Group Home Living in rapid succession. The summer 2018 release Group Home Living showcased his rising profile through appearances by YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Quando Rondo, YNW Melly, and additional guests. Festival sets that year, including a slot at South by Southwest, combined with his expanding online following to increase his audience with every subsequent project.
