Emerging as a prominent figure in the global dance music landscape during 2019, Regard achieved widespread recognition through the massive online traction of his remix for Jay Sean's 2008 hit single "Ride It." His ongoing visibility on music charts continued via partnerships with RAYE as well as Troye Sivan and Tate McRae. Born in Kosovo under the name Dardan Aliu, this artist first gained traction across the Balkan region through his work as a DJ and producer in the electronic dance music circuit prior to shifting focus toward vocal deep house in approximately 2016. He established his reputation rapidly via internet-based mixes, live DJ sets, and original releases such as the tracks "Dream," "Sun Goes Down," and "You're Mine." Though the version of Jay Sean's "Ride It" had circulated since 2017, it experienced sudden widespread attention following digital exposure, leading to viral popularity. Ministry of Sound acquired the recording, issuing it formally in July 2019. The release achieved number one positions on charts in Mexico, the U.K., and Europe, prompting subsequent remixes from artists including Jonas Blue and Franky Wah. To conclude 2019, Regard joined Jay Sean for a live rendition at London's O2 venue. April 2020 saw the arrival of "Secrets" featuring RAYE, which reached the upper echelons of the U.K. singles chart. A subsequent project involved Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike on a rendition of Destiny's Child's "Say My Name." The year 2021 brought a collaboration with Troye Sivan and Tate McRae on the track "You."
