Biography
Pop act Secret Weapons is made up of Danny Rocco and Gerry Lange. Interest first took hold in and around their native New York through a series of live shows, while tracks placed on SoundCloud carried their reach well beyond the region. A deal with Epic followed, the same label where Rocco had been employed in the legal department. Once he stepped away from that position, the pair issued their first single, the assured and rousing “Something New,” in October 2015. The following month brought a slot on NBC’s Today, secured after radio personality Elvis Duran named them the morning program’s artist of the month, along with opening-act dates on the tour by Fun.’s Nate Ruess. Their debut LP, As the setting sun comes crashing down on me, arrived in the summer of 2017.
