Biography
Emerging in 2009 from the remnants of Tafkata and the Arm & Sword of a Bastard God, Seven Sisters of Sleep operates as a fluid Southern California extreme metal ensemble that fuses doom, d-beat, death metal, grindcore, and black metal. Tim McAlary supplies vocals while Brock Elmore and Eddie Bermudez handle guitar, Chip Blake manages bass, and Brian Thomas plays drums. The self-titled debut full-length appeared in 2011 on Baltimore's A389 Recordings. Subsequent split releases—an LP with Children of God, an EP with Ilsa, and a 10" with Shaman's Owl—further shaped the group's approach and grew its following. Opium Morals, the second studio album, surfaced in 2013, leading to a Relapse contract and the 2015 release of the third LP, Stray Hags.
