Biography
Soran, an artist from Canada, weaves acoustic pop together with yearning R&B and electronic production touches across his stylish pop songs. His 2016 appearance as a contestant on Quebec’s La Voix preceded the 2018 release of his self-titled EP. European listeners discovered him through his featured performance on the charting single “Going On,” a 2019 collaboration with Henri Pfr. Tracks such as 2020’s “IG Comments Song” and 2021’s “Bottled Up” each accumulated millions of streams.
Montreal-born and raised, Soran Dussaigne spent his childhood trying out the various instruments his father kept at home. A succession of covers and original songs uploaded to social media helped him gather an initial following. At age 17 he reached the Top 12 of season four on the French-Canadian singing competition La Voix, expanding his audience further. The exposure secured a contract with Audiogram, which put out his first single, “I Wish,” before the year ended. On his debut EP, 2018’s Soran, he performed every instrument and shared production duties with Connor Seidel. The following year Belgian DJ Henri Pfr’s “Going On” climbed into Belgium’s Top 30 with Soran’s vocal, while German electronic duo Gamper & Dadoni issued a remix of his track “Julia.”
