Biography
In 2005, the Canadian dance-rock ensemble the New Cities came together in Quebec. Built around lead vocalist David Brown, the group issued a self-produced EP in 2007 before securing a contract with Sony the next year. Their debut full-length album, Lost in City Lights, appeared in 2009 and spotlighted the single "Dead End Countdown." The New Cities followed up in 2011 with their sophomore release, Kill the Lights, an album the band produced with former Metro Station member Blake Healy that also contained the Matrix co-written single "Heatwave."
