Biography
Hailing from Cardiff in Wales, this five-piece band specializes in melodic alternative pop marked by a clear Beatles influence. The Scooters launched in the final years of the 1990s as a four-member outfit consisting of Anthony Carey on vocals and guitar, Chris Kelly on vocals and guitar, Robert Molcher on bass, and Timothy Rooney on drums. Around the start of the new millennium the lineup grew to five when Simon Rooney, Tim’s brother and a keyboard player, came aboard. Releases on the Aeronaut label soon appeared, with Peepshow arriving in 2000 and I Can See Your House From Here following in 2002; both earned positive notices. The band further expanded its reach by mounting tours across the United States.
