Toothgrinder

Toothgrinder came together in 2010 as a hard rock band operating from Asbury Park, New Jersey, whose punishing style fuses melody and muscle while drawing on post-grunge, post-hardcore, and groove metal. The group’s roster comprises vocalist Justin Matthews, bassist Matt Arensdorf, drummer Wills Weller, and guitarists Jason Goss and Johnuel Hasney. Three EPs—Turning of the Tides, Vibration/Colour/Frequency, and Schizophrenic Jubilee—preceded their first full-length, the Spinefarm Records release Nocturnal Masquerade, which appeared in 2016 and included a guest vocal from Periphery’s Spencer Sotelo. Phantom Armour, the follow-up, surfaced the next year on the same imprint. A year later, I Am sustained the sonic course established by its predecessors.
