Biography
Jonathan Lippmann formed True Vibe alongside Nathan Gaddis, Jason Barton, and Jordan Roe after deciding he wanted to reach the highest levels of musical achievement while keeping his Christian convictions fully intact. As one of the original members of 98 Degrees, Lippmann exited the group at the exact point they were finalizing their recording contract. His departure was influenced both by earlier acting agreements and by a conscious choice to prioritize his personal relationship with God. The singer and actor, already known for roles in the television series Sweet Valley High and appearances in Burger King commercials, relocated to Nashville, TN, where his idea for the quartet finally materialized. True Vibe delivered live performances at a New York Knicks game, on Late Night With David Letterman, and at the Arena Bowl in Orlando, FL. Substantial media exposure soon led to a contract with Essential Records and the release of their debut album in May 2001. Although further television spots increased their visibility, the members reentered the studio the following year to issue See the Light and build upon the mainstream attention they had received.
