Micah Tyler, a vocalist and composer who channels his religious convictions through modern pop song structures, ascended from online popularity to earn recognition among contemporary Christian musicians. His tracks blend sleek pop with R&B and hip-hop influences, and his expressive singing adds a subtle country nuance. Although an amusing internet clip initially brought him attention, his 2017 album Different highlighted both his earnest nature and profound religious devotion, while New Today in 2020 sustained that momentum.

Born Micah Tyler Begnaud on April 19, 1983, in Beaumont, Texas, he was raised in a supportive Christian home yet took a gradual path into music. Into his late twenties he balanced truck driving with youth pastor duties in Buna, Texas. Already married with three children when he fully embraced his calling, Tyler self-released his debut album The Story I Tell in 2013 and performed as many as 200 shows annually at campuses, youth gatherings, and leadership conferences across the South and Southwest. The four-song Kitchen Sink EP arrived in 2014.

An unexpected break came in May 2016 when a lighthearted clip created for a church leaders’ conference, “You’ve Gotta Love Millennials,” went viral and accumulated more than 65 million views. While that exposure showcased Tyler’s humorous side, Christian radio embraced the earnest single “Never Been a Moment,” which appeared on his first Fair Trade Services EP, Different. Fair Trade then issued the full-length Different in October 2017; it reached number 23 on the Christian Albums chart and yielded three Top Ten Christian Singles entries—“Never Been a Moment,” “Even Then,” and the title track. In 2018 Tyler appeared as a coffee-shop singer in the film God Bless the Broken Road and continued logging roughly 200 concert dates each year. The single “Amen,” released in October 2019, climbed to number nine on the Christian Singles chart and introduced the Fair Trade album New Today, which followed in April 2020.
