Ryan Stevenson works as a vocalist, composer, and guitarist within the contemporary Christian genre, blending it with adult-alternative textures. Recognition first arrived in 2015 via the album Fresh Start, whose track “Eye of the Storm” earned a Dove Award. Later projects—No Matter What (2018), Wildest Dreams (2020), and ABLE (2023)—each registered on Billboard charts and reinforced his commercial standing.

Raised amid farmland in Bonanza, Oregon, Stevenson grew up immersed in church music and acquired his initial guitar during late adolescence. While enrolled at Northwest Christian College in Eugene, Oregon, he formed an acoustic duo with CCM artist Paul Wright and appeared on several of Wright’s early projects, among them the 2003 release Fly Away.

After relocating to Boise, Idaho, he issued his debut solo effort, Running to You, through the Christian imprint Off the Vine Records in 2007. Two further outings followed: Undiscovered in 2010 and the EP Yesterday, Today, Forever on BEC Recordings the next year. He moved to Nayrian Records for the 2012 EP Champion of the World, then joined the roster of TobyMac’s Gotee Records for the 2013 full-length Hold Nothing Back, whose title song became his first entry on the Billboard Christian songs chart.

Gotee also put out Fresh Start in 2015. The Top Ten Christian album paired Stevenson with TobyMac on a duet that adopted a brighter, more pop-oriented production approach and included “Eye of the Storm,” featuring Gabe Real, which reached number one in 2016. No Matter What appeared in 2018 and yielded the singles “The Gospel,” “With Lifted Hands,” and the title track, a collaboration with MercyMe’s Bart Millard. A seasonal standalone, “Home for Christmas,” surfaced in 2019, preceding the 2020 album Wildest Dreams, whose single “Amadeo (Still My God)” reached the Top 20. Three years later ABLE arrived, led by the gospel-choir-driven “The Message.” Stevenson opened 2024 with the independent singles “Just as You Are” and “Rich.”
