Hailing from Kentucky in the same vein as Tyler Childers and Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Booth pursues country music with an affinity for classic tones, though his path stayed rooted in mainstream territory instead of the Americana and bluegrass foundations that shaped those peers. His leanings toward honky tonk and barroom anthems aligned him with the lineage of Alan Jackson and Randy Travis, while his resonant baritone occasionally echoed the timbre of Josh Turner. This ability to refresh traditional elements surfaced clearly on the 2021 EP Grab the Reins.

Born in Campton within Wolfe County, Kentucky, Tyler Booth developed amid a constant musical environment. His father Jason performed in the band Stitch Rivet alongside twin brother Gene. Booth drew early motivation from Stitch Rivet, beginning with rock & roll before shifting toward country through exposure to Jamey Johnson. He sustained this direction upon receiving a music scholarship to Morehead State University.

Booth's polished delivery and self-written songs attracted the attention of songwriter Phil O'Donnell, who enlisted the emerging artist to record several demos during 2017. Not long after, Booth issued a self-titled EP under O'Donnell's production, which aided in cultivating a following. He reached broader recognition by contributing "Lost and Found" to Brooks & Dunn's Reboot album in 2019. That same year brought an appearance on Brantley Gilbert's Kick It in the Ship cruise and the release of the single "Long Comes a Girl." During 2020 he secured a publishing agreement with Warner Chappell Music and a recording contract via Villa40/Sony Nashville, issuing the singles "Half a Mind to Go Crazy," "In God and Trucks We Trust," and "87 Octane" before the year closed, in addition to the holiday track "Mary's Arms." His output continued steadily into 2021 with the single "Beautiful Outlaw" as well as "Palomino Princess" and "Already Got One," the latter two forming the core of the EP Grab the Reins.
