Biography
Trea Landon emerged as a country singer and songwriter whose style merges the classic influences of George Strait with a glossy production approach drawn from rock and pop. Not yet 25, he achieved his first major-label breakthrough via the track “Loved by a Country Boy.” His earliest recordings mirrored his age, delivering energetic anthems that paid tribute to small-town existence and a good-natured admiration for women.
Born and raised in the countryside around Claxton, Georgia, Landon grew up with parents who regularly played George Strait, Hank Williams, Jr., and Randy Travis. During his teenage years he gravitated toward heavy metal and hard rock, naming Metallica and Linkin Park among his top choices, and took up drumming. At 16 he picked up the guitar; once his grandfather showed him basic chords, Landon redirected his focus to country music and began composing and performing his own material.
He assembled a band, secured regular slots at nearby honky-tonks, and soon expanded his performances throughout the southeastern United States. After finishing high school he enrolled at Georgia Southern University, yet continued to juggle academics with an expanding music schedule. In 2015 the 21-year-old relocated to Nashville, aiming to advance his career. A music attorney acquainted with his work soon connected him with songwriter Dallas Davidson, resulting in a publishing agreement with Play It Again Music only weeks after Landon’s arrival.
Within months he was collaborating with Rob Hatch and Chris Young while sharpening his live show by opening for Craig Campbell, Clare Dunn, Jon Langston, Luke Combs, and additional acts. His first recordings appeared in 2017 as a self-titled six-song independent EP featuring “When I Get There” and “A Little Bit,” both of which gained traction on streaming platforms. Warner Music signed him in 2019; that May he released his label debut single “Loved by a Country Boy,” which surpassed 2.4 million streams. “Get the Girl” followed as his second Warner single in June 2019.
