Biography
Kameron Marlowe approaches country music with sincerity and delivers it through a voice marked by depth and nuance. His initial burst of visibility came via a season 15 appearance on NBC’s The Voice, after which he issued the gold-certified single “Giving You Up” in 2019. Once he secured a contract with Columbia Nashville, a Sony imprint, he unveiled the album We Were Cowboys in 2022; it registered solidly on the country rankings and was followed in 2024 by the sophomore release Keepin’ the Lights On, which contained the Hot Country Songs duet “Strangers” with Ella Langley. The third album, Sad Songs for the Soul, reached listeners in 2025 behind the lead track “Hello Whiskey.”
Born in 1997 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, Marlowe first absorbed country music by listening to the radio with his grandfather. As a youngster he sang in church and later served as a worship leader. In high school he started a band and performed locally; while enrolled in college his mother was diagnosed with a degenerative back injury, so he withdrew to help support her by selling auto parts. He nevertheless kept performing and took artistic cues from Brooks & Dunn, Travis Tritt, and George Strait. After posting performances online he was spotted in 2018 by a talent scout who placed him on The Voice. There he worked with teams coached by Blake Shelton and Adam Levine before elimination in the Live Playoffs Top 24 round. He then moved to Nashville and released “Giving You Up” in June 2019. Written after his girlfriend ended the relationship just before he planned to propose, the song went viral and landed him management and songwriting deals.
He ultimately joined Sony Music Nashville and dropped “Burn ’Em All” in June 2020. Additional singles such as the charting “Girl on Fire” and “Steady Heart” appeared on his debut full-length, We Were Cowboys, which climbed to number 22 on the Country Albums chart and number 193 on the Billboard 200. In 2023 he returned with the non-album tracks “I Can Lie (The Truth Is)” and “Tennessee Don’t Mind,” launching the next album cycle. Keepin’ the Lights On arrived in May 2024 and included “Strangers,” his top-50 Hot Country Songs duet with Alabama singer Ella Langley; the set peaked at number 43 on Top Country Albums. The single “Hello Whiskey” surfaced in early 2025, previewing Sad Songs for the Soul.
