The individual performing as WesGhost, routinely shown in footage and promotional imagery wearing a white knit ski mask, has not disclosed his name. Interviews reveal he was raised in a mixed-race household in the Midwest. Already proficient on guitar and keyboards by his teenage years, he credits an intense response to Coldplay’s “The Scientist” with steering him toward a music career. His output, however, draws far more from the brisk, high-energy pop-punk that ruled modern-rock airwaves around the millennium than from Coldplay’s polished alternative approach.
